The four worlds played the last nine sublimation holes with five birdies to reach a point -6 and topped the table. Meanwhile, Tiger Woods too par one.

High performances in the last two rounds of the Houston Open last week helped Spieth keep pace in Augusta with two birdies in the top three. Former champion 2015, then, bogey in the hole and hole seven but immediately take back with eagle in hole eight.
Jordan Spieth started well where he won the championship in 2015 and has twice runner-up. Spieth's worst position ever was the T11 last year.

The second half of the round was Spieth's speeding, with five consecutive birdies from 13th to 17th, ahead of compatriots Tony Finau and Matt Kuchar to top the table. Despite bogey in the last pit, Spieth was pleased to close the opening day with a score of -6.

"A good result, this is what I'm waiting for," the 24-year-old star shared. "I played 17 games in Augusta, and this is my sixth time to finish under 70. I tee-off not good at the last pit. But it's a positive result, just 10 shots to complete the second half of the round.

Tony Finau and Matt Kuchar completed the first day with two more sticks than Spieth and ranked second. Chinese Golfer Liotong Haotong surprised the T4 position. In his first Masters play, the 22-year-old talent scored -3. Last year, he was third in the Open Championship and earlier this year surpassed Rory McIlroy to win the Dubai Desert Classic.

Tiger Woods played the opening round with no expectations (73 par 72). He got into trouble with the blows on the green. He had only one birdie and four bogey after 12 holes. Woods, then, took back two birdies in the last five holes.

Even so, being in the Masters is a habit for the four-time champion. In the Masters' history, only Woods once played on the opening day (68 strokes, 2010).

"I did not score as good as the training sessions," Woods was disappointed with his performance. "This is a very different round than the last time I played here. Things have changed after three years. Ranking on the scoreboard is also very unpredictable. Over the weekend, I think it's going to be a lot more chaotic. "

Phil Mickelson started out better than Woods when he got -2 points. The two candidates Rory McIlroy and Henrik Stenson all sounded a stick. Meanwhile, world number one Dustin Johnson positive one, number two Justin Thomas positive two and number three Jon Rahm positive three.
